Mini Yacht doubts

Hi there,

FISLY Mini Yachts will be one of the racing Class adopted in Italy. Some sailors here are starting to build or modify their yacht to fit in.

I wish to know:
- how to apply the 5.60 rule, if there's a precise way for measurement
- is a Seagull Standart' like mast (circular mast plus cambers in the zip pocket) allowed? Someone think about a wing section only looking at a Class 2 or 3 yacht...

you apply the 5.6 rule by making a loop of rope to that size if your yacht fits in it complies
no wing masts standard mast and luff pocket in sail

As this obviously makes a difference to the measurement

Ans.Not specified - but I suppose a piece of string or cord becomes a rope after about 6-8mm - !!

More than 10 mm does not bring a jauge problem, I think !
The thing to know is how thin the 5.60 m rope can be...

Most countries are using a 10mm rope for the loop - we also use 10mm in Ireland

hope the measurer's have a fisly approved official rope then?

I guess 10mm makes sense
As that is a typical sheet rope thickness
